31° Congresso da ABES: assista às oficinas de Educação Ambiental do JPS

Foram três eventos sobre cidades totalmente gratuitos e online, transmitidos pelo canal da ABES no YouTube.

Entre as atividades do programa Jovens Profissionais do Saneamento – JPS durante o 31º Congresso da ABES – Associação Brasileira de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental, que ocorreu de 17 a 20 de outubro, foram realizadas três oficinas sobre Educação Ambiental. Os eventos, que aconteceram nos dias 18, 19 e 20 foram transmitidos pelo canal da ABES o YouTube e você poderá assisti-las a qualquer momento.

1º Oficina de Educação Ambiental JPS – Cidades 

No dia 18 de outubro, o JPS promoveu a primeira oficina com o tema  “Cidades – Identificação e caracterização do espaço urbano: o caminho para a sustentabilidade”. A atividade abordou uma breve introdução do que é a cidade, alguns conceitos e  problemas que assolaram a vida urbana no passado e como interferem no presente e podem vir afetar o futuro.

A oficina foi apresentada pelo coordenador nacional do JPS, Witan Silva, e pela líder do GT nacional de Educação Ambiental e coordenadora do JPS-MG, Manuela Bahiense W. Proença. Participaram como palestrantes Jean Henrique Menezes Nascimento, coordenador Adjunto no GT Educação Ambiental do JPS; e Nathália Nascimento Silva e Souza, coordenadora do JPS-PE e membro do GT de Educação Ambiental do JPS.

Na ocasião, os convidados explanaram a dinâmica do uso e ocupação do solo urbano, trazendo conceitos de vazio urbano, centralidade urbana e a realidade das cidades frente aos serviços de saneamento básico. Outro ponto apresentado foi como as cidades reagiram à pandemia do Covid-19, exemplos de cidades que vivem de forma sustentável e a diferença entre os tipos de cidades. 2ª Oficina de Educação Ambiental JPS – Cidades Sustentáveis 

A segunda oficina foi realizada no dia 19 de outubro, e falou sobre “Cidades sustentáveis”, abordando a cidade como um organismo vivo e quais são as possibilidades já existentes de conectar e equilibrar os diversos elementos que a constituem, de forma a torná-la sustentável.

A oficina teve apresentação de Iara Rosso, coordenadora do JPS-MG, e Jean Henrique Menezes Nascimento, coordenador Adjunto no GT Educação Ambiental do JPS. Os palestrantes foram Everton Eduardo Gomes Rocha, engenheiro Ambiental e Sanitarista, agente de saneamento e voluntário do JPS-MG; Manuela Bahiense W. Proença, engenheira ambiental, pós graduada em Educação Ambiental e Sustentabilidade, coordenadora adjunta do JPS MG; Regina Coeli Lima, engenheira Civil, especialista em Gestão e Controle de Áreas Contaminadas por Resíduos Sólidos, pesquisadora do Grupo de Pesquisa Gestão Ambiental de Pernambuco (Gampe), mestranda em Engenharia Ambiental, voluntária do programa JPS-PE.

Foram apresentadas características de uma cidade sustentável e o tema será contextualizado com o ODS 11. Aspectos como ar, água, resíduos, esgoto, drenagem, mobilidade em cidades sustentáveis, além de temas como economia circular, agricultura urbana e permacultura aplicada à vida urbana para a melhoria do equilíbrio das cidades também foram destaques. 3ª Oficina de Educação Ambiental JPS – Cidades Inteligentes

Já a terceira oficina “Cidades Inteligentes”, realizada no dia 20 de outubro, discorreu sobre como a cidade foi pensada e sua evolução ao longo do tempo, quais conceitos nortearam a ocupação urbana (aproximação humana e ambiental ou distanciamento; priorização das vias etc.).

Apresentada por Witan Silva, engenheiro ambiental e sanitarista, coordenador nacional do JPS, o evento contou com palestra de Fernanda Heringer de Souza, estudante de Engenharia Ambiental e Sanitária.

A convidada fez uma reflexão sobre o impacto das escolhas na ocupação urbana e os desafios/custos para mudar. Elencou os problemas oriundos das escolhas boas ou más. Abordou novas tendências como uso da inteligência artificial em alguns serviços públicos na China, no Japão e alguns países da Europa que utilizam esses sistemas.

O 31º Congresso da ABES, o mais importante evento de saneamento ambiental do Brasil, foi realizado entre os dias 17 a 20 de outubro, juntamente com a Fitabes 2021, Feira Internacional de Tecnologias de Saneamento Ambiental, em formato híbrido: presencialmente, no Expo Unimed Curitiba, na capital paranaense, e virtualmente, em plataforma digital. Esta edição do encontro teve como tema central “Cidades Inteligentes conectadas com o saneamento e o meio ambiente: desafio dos novos tempos”. Além das Oficinas do JPS, outras atividades foram abertas ao público e transmitidas pelo canal da ABES no YouTube. Confira aqui.
