Faleceu, no último sábado, 1 º de setembro, o engenheiro sanitarista Frederico Vitório Valente, de 71 anos, ex-presidente da  ABES Seção Mato Grosso do Sul (ABES-MS). Ele foi também secretário nacional de Saneamento e presidente da Sanesul, além de consultor sênior. Neste contexto, o engenheiro construiu a captação do Guariroba, uma grande obra na captação de água da capital do estado. Atuou, ainda, como vereador do município.

Campo Grande e Mato Grosso do Sul, amanheceram mais “pobres”, na manhã fria e chuvosa, desse domingo, 02 de setembro de 2018, pela perda de Frederico Valente, nosso FRED, falecido na noite de sábado, em Campo Grande.

Profissional de reconhecimento nacional, expert em saneamento ambiental e planejamento urbano, mais sobretudo e principalmente um SER preocupado com o desenvolvimento urbano, o meio ambiente, a evolução social e com o exercício pleno da cidadania. Participativo, atuante e comprometido com a inserção do indivíduo no contexto urbano e social. FRED foi vereador em Campo Grande, presidiu a ABES e a Sanesul, dentre outras entidades, foi Secretário Nacional de Saneamento e consultor sênior reconhecido.

Sempre voltado para as atividades de infraestrutura urbana e rural, com ênfase no crescimento sócio-político e ambiental de nossa gente. As discussões tratando do tema desenvolvimento urbano, social e ambiente, seja de Campo Grande, do Estado ou do País, tinham a presença física e intelectual espontânea e voluntária do FRED, como partícipe ativo nas inúmeras audiências públicas, com propostas e contribuições lúcidas e pertinentes, fruto de uma mente privilegiada e comprometida com a coletividade.

Obrigado, FRED, por tudo que fez pela engenharia sanitária e ambiental, pelo desenvolvimento urbano e social e pelo grande legado de exemplo de atuação cidadã, deixado às gerações de sul-mato-grossenses.

Nosso pioneiro em relação ao saneamento descentralizado. Além de tudo era conhecido pela honestidade na vida pública. Algo que não vemos mais hoje e ele sempre dizia que era obrigação.
