ABES-AC participa de audiência pública sobre gestão integrada de resíduos sólidos

Nesta sexta, 27 de setembro, o Presidente da ABES Seção Acre (ABES-AC), Engenheiro Julio Cesar Pinho Mattos, participou de  uma audiência pública promovida pela Prefeitura de Marechal Thaumaturgo/AC, por meio da Secretaria Municipal de Meio Ambiente e Turismo – SEMATUR, acerca do Plano Municipal de Gestão Integrada de Resíduos Sólidos de Marechal Thaumaturgo. Realizado na Câmara Municipal de Vereadores, em atendimento à Lei Federal 12.305/2010, que institui a Política Nacional de Resíduos Sólidos, o evento teve como finalidade o entendimento e a validação do plano.

“Falamos para a população que agora com o documento concluso, uma vez que o município já possui o Plano Municipal de Saneamento, habilita-se com a lei nacional de diretrizes do sanamento básico o acesso de recursos públicos nesta temática”, conta o Presidente da seção acreana da ABES. “Planejar o município é fundamental e o eixo saneamento básico é uma constituinte deste planejamento”, destaca.

Julio Cesar ainda parabeniza o prefeito de Marechal Thaumaturgo, Isaac Piyãko, que tem, de acordo com ele, uma bonita história social. “Ele vem de uma aldeia indígena, estuda, chega à universidade, começa a fazer mestrado, mas abandona para se candidatar[à Prefeitura]”, detalha. Ele explica que Isaac Piyãko está imbuído a fazer o Plano Diretor de Desenvolvimento Urbano do Município, embora este não possua ainda os 20 mil habitantes (que torna o plano obrigatório). “Ele não está na obrigatoriedade, mas ele entende que a gestão é extremamente importante”, frisa.

O Engenheiro ressalta que é significativo para todos os militantes da ABES ter esta notícia sobre um município “isolado geograficamente – não existe acesso por estradas para chegar a Marechal Thaumaturgo. E que mesmo com todos esses desafios torna-se mais um dos municípios brasileiros com os dois instrumentos de gestão pública e planejamento estratégico, que é o saneamento básico e gestão integrada de resíduos sólidos, que vamos entender já como saneamento ambiental”, salienta.

Julio Cesar aproveita para parabenizar o Presidente nacional da ABES, Roberval Tavares de Souza, “pela importante participação junto aos parlamentares [nas discussões acerca do novo marco regulatório do saneamento. Saiba mais], com a esperança que possamos ter um equilíbrio entre o público e privado na participação efetiva para a efetiva para a universalização do saneamento”, conclui.
