ABES Pará presente em sessão especial da Câmara Municipal de Belém sobre saneamento no munícipio

No dia 24 de março, a Associação Brasileira de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental – ABES Seção Pará (ABES-PA) participou da Sessão especial da Câmara Municipal de Belém para tratar do tema “A falta de saneamento básico no município de Belém”, a convite do Vereador Emerson Sampaio.

Representando a ABES-PA, esteve presente o diretor Prof. Dr. Valdinei Mendes da Silva, que apresentou uma linha do tempo, contemplando os últimos 20 anos da história do saneamento no município de Belém e Região Metropolitana, destacando pontos como o fechamento do Aurá, criação do Conselho Estadual de Recursos Hídricos e a aprovação do Plano Municipal de Saneamento Básico de Belém. Além disso, foi apresentada a evolução dos estudos para o tratamento e destinação final dos esgotos em Belém e o papel de cada ente nesse processo.

Além do requerente, estiveram presentes o Vereador Zeca Pirão, presidente da Câmara Municipal de Belém, e o Vereador Fernando Carneiro, ou seja, somente 3 (três) dos 35 vereadores eleitos. Estiveram presentes também os representantes das seguintes secretarias municipais: Ivanise Gasparim, Secretária de Saneamento; Sérgio Brazão , o Secretário de Meio Ambiente e Maurício Bezerra, Secretário de Saúde.
