ABES-PE e Câmara Temática de Resíduos Sólidos promovem em Recife audiência pública sobre Lixão da Estrutural do DF e criação do Aterro Sanitário de Brasília

A Associação Brasileira de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental Seção Pernambuco (ABES-PE) e a Câmara Temática de Resíduos Sólidos da ABES, em parceria com a Comissão de Meio Ambiente e Sustentabilidade (CMAS) da Assembleia Legislativa de Pernambuco (ALEPE), promoverão, no dia 7 de maio, às 10h, na capital pernambucana, uma audiência pública sobre fechamento do Lixão da Estrutural do Distrito Federal, o maior da América Latina, e criação do Aterro Sanitário de Brasília, em Samambaia.

A apresentação será feita pela a engenheira Heliana Kátia Tavares Campos, membro da CT e presidente do Serviço de Limpeza Urbana – SLU do Distrito Federal. O encontro será realizado no auditório da ALEPE, em Recife/PE.

A iniciativa tem como objetivo, além de oportunizar conhecimentos sobre as soluções e técnicas com os resíduos sólidos no Distrito Federal, fomentar debates no intuito de contribuir com os esforços para o enfrentamento dos desafios vivenciados no Estado de Pernambuco para o atendimento da Lei nº 12.305/2010, que instituiu a Política Nacional de Resíduos Sólidos – PNRS. E da Lei nº 14.236, de 13 de dezembro de 2010, que dispõe sobre a Política de Resíduos Sólidos do estado.

O lixão foi fechado em janeiro deste ano

De acordo com a coordenadora da CT, Bárbara Cavalcante, o evento será excelente para mostrar todos os esforços, tecnologias e soluções adotadas em Brasília, contemplando a questão social, ambiental e econômica. “Brasília está atendendo a lei, implantando coleta seletiva”, diz ela. “Temos que começar a promover essa relação entre os estados, mostrar o que DF fez, para fortalecer e estimular com muito entusiasmo que os planos sejam implementados e que as soluções sejam desenvolvidas, sobretudo, de maneira integrada”, reforça.

A engenheira afirma, ainda, que a audiência pública é uma oportunidade para que os presentes entendam “quais são as dificuldades que ocorreram e ainda existem depois de tudo isso. Quais foram os avanços decorrente desta determinação política de fazer o aterro sanitário”, exemplifica.

Segundo Bárbara, é fundamental estimular que em cada região se faça um evento como este. “Estamos passando a ideia para Alagoas, para os estados de maneira geral, para começarmos a fazer os encontros. No nosso estado [Pernambuco] entregamos os planos de gerenciamento e sabemos como estamos em relação ao atendimento à lei para aterros sanitários, para os planos intermunicipais”, ressalta. Ela acrescenta que os Resíduos Classe I (perigosos) de Alagoas, por exemplo, são enviados para Pernambuco para serem devidamente tratados dentro da legislação. “O tratamento atende a todos os parâmetros exigidos por nossa companhia de meio ambiente”, conclui.
