ABES-Rio participa de Audiência Pública na Alerj

A seção foi representada pelo presidente Miguel Fernández y Fernández e pela diretora Karina Alencar.

No dia 12 de abril, o presidente da ABES Seção Rio de Janeiro, Miguel Fernández y Fernández, e a diretora, Karina Alencar, estiveram presentes na Assembleia Legislativa do Rio de Janeiro (ALERJ) participando de uma Audiência Pública da Comissão de Saneamento Ambiental.

O evento tratou da resolução dos problemas relatados pelos usuários dos serviços de abastecimento de água potável e esgotamento sanitário das concessionárias, Águas do Rio, Iguá Saneamento e Rio + Saneamento.

Na ocasião, Miguel falou aos deputados presentes sobre as propostas que a ABES apresentou ao atual governador para que o saneamento possa ser universalizado no estado, a Agência Reguladora possa ser independente e a revisão do modelo tarifário.

“Venho aqui falar os três pontos que apresentamos aos candidatos ao governo, inclusive o atual governador, que nós consideramos fundamentais para o desenvolvimento desse processo de concessão e para o avanço do saneamento no nosso estado. Primeiro, o fortalecimento da regulação da agência reguladora. Se você não tiver uma agência forte e independente capaz de acompanhar e aferir esse contrato, é impossível fazer concessão. Segundo ponto que a ABES traz como muito importante é a questão tarifária. O modelo tarifário existente não tem nem início, nem meio, nem fim de discussão sobre ele. Não faz sentido a água que se vende a 50 Km de distância de Ipanema ser mais barata do que a de alguém que mora ao lado em Nova Iguaçu. E por fim, a questão da outorga. O setor antecipou 22 bilhões de reais, aproximadamente, aos estados e municípios. Esse dinheiro, por mais que seja importante asfaltar vias e outros investimentos, é dinheiro de um serviço que não universalizou. Prioritariamente, tem que garantir segurança hídrica, urbanização e obras que vão permitir que o saneamento chegue em todos os locais”, afirmou o presidente da ABES-Rio.
