ABES-RS promove em Porto Alegre debate sobre avanços e desafios da Política Nacional de Saneamento Básico

A Associação Brasileira de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental  Seção Rio Grande do Sul (ABES-RS) promoveu, no dia 30 de novembro, em Porto Alegre/RS, uma discussão sobre os avanços e desafios da Lei 11.445/07, que estabelece diretrizes nacionais para o saneamento básico. Estiveram presentes representantes da AGERGS (onde ocorreu o encontro), do SENGE/RS, de municípios, da ABIQUIM e de empresas privadas.

O objetivo do evento foi abordar o levantamento de dados, diagnóstico da situação, propostas para a implementação da lei e gestão integrada para o sistema de abastecimento de água, esgotamento sanitário, limpeza urbana e manejo de resíduos sólidos e drenagem de águas pluviais urbanas.

Segundo a presidente da ABES-RS, Jussara Kalil Pires, houve consenso sobre os avanços trazidos pela Política Nacional de Saneamento Básico e o reconhecimento de que os problemas que ainda persistem. “São frutos do amadurecimento natural da política”, destacou. “As entidades e os profissionais presentes posicionaram-se contrários a quaisquer alterações no atual momento, entendendo que uma política duramente conquistada só poderia ser alterada após amplos debates”, declarou.
