Um ano de desafios, lições e legados

O ano de 2020 trouxe imensos desafios para o Brasil e o resto do planeta com a covid-19. Em meio ao enfrentamento à pandemia e à crise econômica e social, resiliência e inovação foram as palavras de ordem.

E a ABES, em seus 54 anos de atuação pelo saneamento ambiental, pela saúde e pela qualidade de vida das pessoas, reinventou-se em 2020 e com resiliência, inovação e engajamento de seus voluntários e colaboradores, buscou alternativas para continuar disseminando conteúdo de qualidade aos profissionais do setor e à sociedade em geral.

Respondendo rapidamente ao momento, a ABES criou o programa online ABES Conecta, que com a participação engajada de suas Câmaras Temáticas e Técnicas, suas Seções Estaduais e do Programa Jovens Profissionais do Saneamento (JPS), realizou mais de 150 webinares este ano, alcançando mais de 200 mil visualizações e sendo reconhecido pelo público, pela mídia e por outras entidades do setor. O trabalho das Câmaras resultou ainda em diversos documentos, estudos e guias de prevenção à covid, com informação relevante para profissionais e sociedade em geral. As Seções Estaduais continuaram investindo em ações de qualificação, um dos pilares da ABES, e, utilizando ferramentas virtuais, promoveram cursos de alto nível para centenas de profissionais do setor.

Assim também foi com o maior evento promovido pela ABES este ano: a Brazil Water Week. A realização internacional, que reuniu 150 especialistas do Brasil e outros 16 países, teve que ser repensada com a pandemia e reorganizada de forma totalmente virtual, desde suas reuniões de planejamento e ações dos diversos grupos de profissionais que atuaram para sua construção à realização do evento em plataforma exclusiva, de 26 a 30 de outubro. Mobilizando diversas equipes de profissionais do setor de Saneamento e de Comunicação, Marketing e Tecnologia da Informação e com um formato inovador, a ABES levou ao público, além de mais de 30 sessões com participações ao vivo de vários lugares do mundo, uma programação televisiva nos intervalos, promovendo entrevistas e discussões complementares aos debates e engajando os espectadores, além de ações voltadas à sociedade, como o Projeto Van Solidária, que levou mantimentos, produtos de higiene e informação sobre a prevenção à covid-19 a comunidades vulneráveis da Região Metropolitana de São Paulo, e as oficinas de educação ambiental promovidas pelos jovens do JPS para educadores.

Este ano o PNQS – Prêmio Nacional da Qualidade em Saneamento também inovou, realizando todo seu processo de avaliação das candidatas do AMEGSA e SELO de Fornecedores em plataforma exclusiva, o Seminário de Benchmarking – com as apresentações do IGS, PEOS e das ganhadoras do AMEGSA e Selo SQFSA- e a Cerimônia de Premiação. Também lançou o PGA – Prêmio de Gestão de Ativos para as operadoras de saneamento. Foi um grande esforço do CNQA – Comitê Nacional da Qualidade ABES, das empresas e dos profissionais, justificando o tema deste ano: “Adaptabilidade e olhar para o futuro”. 

A ABES também teve participação relevante nas discussões sobre o Novo Marco Legal do Saneamento, não apenas levando seu posicionamento propositivo ao setor e à sociedade, por meio da mídia e canais próprios, mas promovendo debates plurais, com a participação de todos os entes interessados. E continuaremos avançando para atuarmos juntos ao poder público, a outras entidades e empresas públicas e privadas pela melhoria do nosso setor e pela universalização da prestação de serviços com qualidade e equidade.

Todas essas grandes realizações em um ano tão desafiador só foram possíveis graças aos associados e profissionais voluntários que fazem da ABES a mais atuante entidade do saneamento no Brasil. É este voluntariado aguerrido que faz da ABES uma voz e uma força na discussão do saneamento ambiental.

Este ano nos deixa lições e legados para continuarmos atuando com paixão pelo saneamento e espírito de união, que são nossa marca.
Agradecemos a todos pelo engajamento e companheirismo e convidamos para que estejam conosco para o planejamento das ações de 2021.
