Publicação, que é uma iniciativa da ATESP – Associação Paulista dos Transportadores de Água, com participação da Câmara Técnica de Saúde Ambiental da Seção São Paulo, aborda a importância deste tipo de veículo no atendimento a diversas comunidades.
A Associação Brasileira de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental Seção São Paulo (ABES-SP), por meio de sua Câmara Técnica de Saúde Ambiental, participou da elaboração da Cartilha Nacional “Abastecimento de Água para consumo humano por veículo transportador – Caminhão Pipa”, criada pela Associação Paulista dos Transportadores de Água (ATAESP).
A publicação, lançada esta semana em formato online (clique aqui para acessar), aborda a questão do caminhão pipa e a sua importância na matriz da água. O melhor modelo de atendimento para vários tipos de comunidade por meio do sistema simplificado ainda é o caminhão pipa.
O Brasil é um dos países mais ricos, tanto em quantidade quanto em qualidade de sua água subterrânea, como ressalta Carlos Alberto Murari Junior, presidente da ATAESP. O transporte de água por meio de caminhão pipa é feito tanto por concessionárias de saneamento quanto particulares. “As concessionárias fazem transporte de água potável via caminhão pipa para cerca de um milhão de pessoas diariamente. No semiárido nordestino cerca de 10 estados e aproximadamente 500 caminhões pipa abastecem aquela população, que ainda não tem água encanada, o que retrata a importância da prática”, frisa Murari Junior.
Ele explica ainda que a água potável transportada pelos caminhões pipa geralmente é proveniente de poços artesianos. “A água transportada é uma matriz bastante significativa, estratégica e indispensável para a sobrevivência humana, manutenção das atividades econômicas e recreativas. Não existe uma verdadeira matriz de abastecimento de água sem a presença da água transportada. A qualidade de vida de uma população está diretamente ligada à qualidade de seu abastecimento de água.”
Para Roseane Garcia, diretora da ABES-SP e coordenadora da Câmara Técnica de Saúde Ambiental, a participação na elaboração da publicação vai ao encontro da missão da ABES, de levar a informação para a sociedade, que muitas vezes desconhece a importância do caminhão pipa para as comunidades em várias regiões do país.
“A ABES-SP está junto com ATAESP pela primeira vez. A cartilha ajudará a sociedade a compreender as questões sobre o tema. Até 2020, 8 milhões de pessoas foram atendidas pelo transporte de água do caminhão pipa”, informa Roseane.
A diretora ressalta que o tema ainda carece de desenvolvimento. “Precisamos avançar em normativas específicas para esse tipo de serviço, que é diferente da distribuição por rede. Temos que nos apoderar desse tipo de serviço para escrever coisas aplicáveis, para que o procedimento na questão do abastecimento seja executado e que a água seja ofertada dentro do padrão de potabilidade”, reforça a engenheira.
