CT Dessalinização e Reúso da ABES promove debate sobre estresse hídrico no Estado de São Paulo

A ABES, por meio de sua Câmara Temática de Dessalinização e Reúso, coordenada por Renato Giani Ramos, promoveu nesta terça, 17 de outubro, um debate com o tema “Estresse Hídrico em São Paulo”. O evento ocorreu no âmbito do Congresso Mundial sobre Dessalinização e Reúso de Águas na América Latina promovido pela Associação Internacional de Dessalinização (IDA), do qual é apoiador institucional. O congresso acontece até 20 de outubro no Sheraton World Trade Center.

O painel foi coordenado por Renato Ramos e moderado por Gesner de Oliveira, da GoAssociados, e Maurice Neo, da Plublic Utilities Board, de Singapura. A mesa foi composta pelos palestrantes Nivaldo Rodrigues da Sabesp; Sandra Kishi, do Ministério Público; Prof. Raphael Rodrigues, da Universidade de São Paulo – USP; Fabricio Soler, da Felsberg Advogados; e Helene Kubler, da CH2M.

Os especialistas apresentaram projetos e iniciativas, como o Aquapolo, o maior empreendimento para a produção de água de reúso industrial na América do Sul, e os avanços e lições relacionadas à segurança hídrica em Singapura

Segundo Gesner de Oliveira, a principal lição a ser aprendida com aquele país, é o horizonte de planejamento. “Sem planejamento de longo prazo é impossível ter segurança hídrica. Uma grande lição a ser aprendida no Brasil é a necessidade de regatar a capacidade de planejamento”, enfatizou.

“O painel foi extremamente oportuno, uma vez que se discutiu as possibilidades de reúso da água e também outras iniciativas como dessalinização, que visam a diversificação da matriz hídrica, que é algo essencial no Brasil e no mundo”, ressaltou Gesner. “Há um mito que o Brasil tem água em abundância. Na verdade, quando analisamos as principais manchas urbanas brasileiras, vemos que elas sofrem de uma situação crítica para recursos hídricos, daí a necessidade de ter uma política com planejamento, boa gestão e boa regulação para que possamos avançar”.

Para o coordenador da CT Renato Ramos, o painel apresentou um aspecto importantíssimo: discutir os desafios de água para o Estado de São Paulo. “Os palestrantes se posicionaram muito bem, em diferentes perspectivas que passa do Ministério Público até a Sabesp, compartilhando com a experiência internacional de Cingapura para saber onde eles estão e como podemos caminhar”, disse. “A discussão só agregou em um momento em que precisamos planejar e trazer essa discussão para uma maneira de implementar e conseguir evitar novas crises”, concluiu.
