Projeto visa promover a consciência ambiental no Rio Grande do Sul

Dentro da programação de atividades do DIADESOL, a ABES-RS realizou, de 5 a 19 de setembro, a 6ª edição do projeto Harmonia Consciente, que busca conscientizar acampados e visitantes no Acampamento Farroupilha, no Parque Maurício Sirostky Sobrinho ou Parque Harmonia, em Porto Alegre, e demonstrar a importância da coleta seletiva de resíduos.A atividade mostrou aos integrantes dos cerca de 380 piquetes presentes a necessidade de cuidar permanentemente dos aspectos ambientais.

A coordenadora do projeto da ABES-RS, Alba Ferreira da Rosa, destaca que a ação, que é desenvolvida desde 2010 e que integra as atividades de comemoração do Dia Interamericano de Limpeza e Cidadania, criado pela Associação Pan Americana de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambienta (AIDIS) e pela Organização Mundial de Saúde (OPAS) desde 2002, já está produzindo efeitos positivos junto aos piqueteiros. “Observamos, nos últimos cinco anos, a mudança dos hábitos dos integrantes dos piquetes. Eles estão recebendo bem as orientações que passamos e passam a ter uma atitude mais vinculada à preservação ambiental. Alguns dos piquetes promovem a coleta de água da chuva para irrigar hortas, realizam a compostagem e instalam caixas de gordura nas pias. É um avanço importante em direção à conscientização”, lembra Alba.

Nesta edição, o projeto esteve presente na rotina dos 380 piquetes que participam do Acampamento Farroupilha. Na primeira semana de realização da iniciativa, o grupo de 18 voluntários orientou os acampados sobre a correta separação dos resíduos recicláveis. Na segunda semana, foi feita a avaliação da coleta seletiva e a conduta dos diferentes piquetes. Ao final, os cinco piquetes que se destacaram receberam o prêmio “Destaque em Cuidados com os Resíduos Sólidos”. O projeto conta com o apoio do Departamento Municipal de Limpeza Urbana de Porto Alegre (DMLU), Braskem, Sindicato das Indústrias de Material Plástico no Estado do RS (Sinplast), Prefeitura do Acampamento Farroupilha e Secretaria Municipal da Cultura de Porto Alegre.

A solenidade de premiação contemplou cinco piquetes que se destacaram tanto na separação de resíduos como em atitudes de preservação ambiental durante sua permanência no Parque. Dos cerca de 370 participantes, venceram os piquetes Figueira do 35, Lendas do Sul, Tropeiros da Justiça e Vento Sul, todos de Porto Alegre, e João de Barro, de Dois Irmãos.

Cada um dos vencedores da distinção “Destaque em Cuidados com os Resíduos Sólidos” receberam um banco plástico ecológico, doados pelo Sinplast, e elaborado com a utilização de 2.500 sacolas plásticas , uma placa e certificado alusivos à conquista obtida no Harmonia Consciente. Ao entregar os prêmios, a vice-presidente da ABES-RS, Jussara Kalil Pires, lembrou que a iniciativa é fundamental para estimular os piquetes a encaminharem os resíduos de forma adequada, além de promoverem outras ações sustentáveis.

“A ABES-RS fica feliz em unir tradição e consciência ambiental por meio do Harmonia Consciente. Nos últimos anos, conseguimos reunir mais de 60 toneladas de resíduos recicláveis como copos descartáveis, garrafas plásticas e de vidro, entre outros, que foram encaminhados aos galpões de triagem. Os piquetes exercem um papel importante nessa ação, disseminando iniciativas sustentáveis não apenas para seus integrantes, mas para o público em geral, aqui no parque, e, posteriormente, em suas cidades de origem”, afirmou Jussara.

“O volume de resíduos recicláveis que encaminhamos às cooperativas durante o Acampamento Farroupilha é maior a cada ano, deixando de ir para os aterros. Além disso, a conscientização da população através de uma educação continuada é o que nos leva a manter este projeto”, afirma Alba Ferreira da Rosa.

De acordo com informações do DMLU, os resíduos recicláveis coletados no Acampamento são distribuídos nas 19 cooperativas da capital gaúcha, gerando benefícios para mais de 600 famílias. A ABES-RS lembra, ainda, que a separação correta dos resíduos sólidos é uma exigência da Lei de Resíduos Sólidos de 2010, da Política Nacional de Resíduos e os piquetes precisam cumprir também no Acampamento Farroupilha como todo cidadão.
