Rio Water Week: Semana da Água, evento inédito que faz história no Brasil

A Rio Water Week começou nesta segunda-feira, 26 de novembro, no Riocentro, no Rio de Janeiro, fazendo história: em sua primeira edição no Brasil, reúne mais de 2 mil participantes e 100 especialistas, sendo 60 deles internacionais.

O presidente nacional da ABES, Roberval Tavares de Souza, abriu o evento saudando os presentes e a realização do sonho da ABES de promover no País um evento internacional reunindo experts de várias partes do planeta. “Estamos aqui reunidos para conhecer experiências de outras partes do mundo e apresentar as nossas. Este é o tempo de ouvir, dialogar”, frisou Roberval. E ressaltou que a eficiência deve permear a atuação de profissionais e empresas. “Precisamos cada vez mais buscar a eficiência e trabalhar forte nesta questão. Nós da ABES acreditamos na união do setor público e do privado para tirar o país dessa condição de terceiro mundo no saneamento e levar saúde e qualidade de vida para a população”.

Carlos Alberto Rosito, vice-presidente da ABES, idealizador e embaixador da Rio Water Week, celebrou o sonho realizado. “Aquele sonho que era só brasileiro e muito limitado, dos 3% da população mundial que nós queremos ver abastecidos com água e com sistema adequado de coleta/tratamento de esgoto, se expandiu para o planeta. Esse é o  sonho de todos os meus colegas. O sonho que temos há décadas no Brasil é o mesmo de vocês.”

Rosito ressaltou a destacada participação da ABES na construção do Forúm Mundial da Água no Brasil em 2018, juntamente com outros associados como Alceu Guérios Bittencourt, que participou da Comissão Temática do Fórum Mundial da Água, Marisa Guimarães e tantos outros. “Participamos intensamente e pensamos que o sonho de alcançar o ODS 6 seria melhor acalentado se houvesse a divisão de ideias para os nossos desafios com os demais colegas do mundo no setor de saneamento.”

Plenária de abertura

O Painel de Abertura da RWW contou com apresentações Jorge Briard, presidente da CEDAE, e Oscar Cordeiro Neto, diretor da área de Regulação da Agência Nacional de Águas – ANA. A moderação foi de Alceu Guérios Bittencourt, diretor nacional da ABES.

“A Rio Water Week é uma iniciativa espetacular e fundamental para discutirmos as realidades que temos em nosso país no que se refere, principalmente, à água e esgoto e recursos hídricos”, enfatizou Briard. “Acho importante ter como plano de fundo o ODS6 – Objetivo de  Desenvolvimento Sustentável da ONU número 6, que fala sobre oito metas para serem atingidas em água  e esgoto”.

Segundo o presidente da CEDAE, é fundamental que essa oportunidade, como foi a sua participação na plenária inicial, para jogar para o público, que é especializado em saneamento – as diversas instituições representativas do país – a discussão para buscar modelos no saneamento desde os alternativos até  modelos de financiamento, de desenvolvimento tecnológico em que, entendendo as pluralidades que existem nas regiões do país em termos de desenvolvimento na área de saneamento, se possa buscar caminhos para suprir as várias realidades e conseguir avançar de forma uniforme com o objetivo de chegar a 2030 com a universalização.  “Sabemos que terão regiões que conseguirão chegar pelo menos próximos desse objetivo de 2030 e que outras não terão condições de chegar. O importante é que tenhamos um desenho, um planejamento definido para se não chegue em 2030, chegue em 2035, 2039,2040, mas que possamos chegar em metas, indicadores e origens de financiamentos de uma forma clara e objetiva, permitindo que a nação possa enxergar  quando vai ter em determinado momento esse serviço tão  básico e primário para o desenvolvimento de um país, que é o saneamento básico”, concluiu.
